Game modes
Deathmatch
Free-for-all combat where every player fights for themselves.
Deathmatch is a free-for-all mode. There are no teams: every other player is an opponent. The player with the most kills at the end of the match wins.
How It Works
- Every player spawns independently: there are no teams
- Every other player is your enemy
- The first player to reach the kill target wins the match
- If time runs out, the player with the highest kill count takes the victory
- Ties are broken by fewest deaths, then by whoever reached their kill count first
Respawning
After being eliminated, you respawn quickly at a random spawn point across the map. Spawn protection gives you a brief moment of invulnerability to prevent spawn kills, but it wears off the moment you fire or use an ability.
Scoring
- Kill: +1 to your personal score
- Suicide / Environmental Death: -1 to your score. Watch where you step: falling into your own hazard trap costs you
- Multi-Kill Streak: Eliminating multiple players in quick succession without dying. Streaks are tracked on the scoreboard
Tips
- Stay mobile: Standing still makes you an easy target. Keep moving between engagements
- Third-party fights: When two players are fighting, wait for one to be eliminated before engaging the survivor, who will be at reduced health
- Control power positions: Elevated spots and areas near teleporters give you escape routes and sightlines
- Use the environment: Environmental hazards like soap, dookie, and rat traps deal damage and slow enemies. Bait players into them to gain an advantage
- Grapple: Use the grapple to close distance quickly or escape when outnumbered
- Track player counts: If multiple enemies are nearby, disengage and wait for them to thin each other out before re-engaging
