Traversal

Movement and navigation in Blitz.

Blitz has several traversal systems. Knowing how to use each one efficiently is as important as combat. Not all movement options are available in every experience.

Grapple

Press E to launch toward any surface or ledge within range. The grapple is your primary tool for navigating the map's vertical space. Use it to get up to elevated areas quickly, cross open ground, or reposition mid-fight. There is a short cooldown between uses.

  • Chain grapples to move across the map without touching the floor, useful for avoiding ground-level hazards
  • Grappling while taking fire makes you harder to track
  • Elevated positions give better sightlines, especially with the Sniper or Rifle

Cans

Cans are placed at fixed locations around the map. Walk into one to teleport to its linked destination. Each can is paired. The destination can sends you back to where you came from. Both directions work at any time.

Learn the can pairs to use them reliably for repositioning and flanking.

Vents

Vent openings are placed around the map. Walk into one to teleport to a random vent exit elsewhere on the map. Like cans, vents are bidirectional, meaning entering from any vent can take you to any other.

Because vent exits are random, they're less predictable than cans but can get you across the map quickly when you need distance fast.

Double Jump

Press Space while airborne to jump again. The double jump gives you one extra jump before needing to land.

  • Useful for reaching platforms that are just out of grapple range
  • Chain double jump with grapple for extended air time and unpredictable movement
  • Changing direction mid-air makes you harder to hit during firefights
  • Resets when you touch any solid surface, including ledges you grab onto briefly

Glide

Hold Space while in the air to glide. Gliding slows your descent and lets you cover more horizontal distance, giving you time to line up a landing or reposition before touching down. Only available in certain experiences.

  • Use glide after a double jump to extend your air time even further
  • Gliding makes your trajectory more predictable, so avoid gliding in the open when enemies have a clear shot
  • On Glacia, look for elevated positions to launch glides from and drop in on enemies at control points
