Thornwood Ruins
Deathmatch map set in an overgrown ancient ruin.
Note: Thornwood Ruins is currently disabled and unavailable for matchmaking. It will return in a future update.
Thornwood Ruins is a haunted ruin reclaimed by dense forest growth, built for close-quarters gunfights and rapid action in small groups. The layout is tight corridors, broken walls, collapsed pillars, and vine-covered ledges stacked on top of each other. Vertical platforming and quick rotations define the flow of combat here.
Traversal
Double Jump
Press Space while airborne to jump again. The crumbling ruins are full of elevated platforms, broken ledges, and vertical gaps that reward players who use the double jump well.
- Change direction between jumps to dodge incoming fire while climbing
- Jump resets on contact with any solid surface, including narrow ledges, so you can chain movement across platforms
- Reaching higher ground gives you better sightlines and access to weapon spawns
Slide
Slide to make yourself a harder target without losing momentum. In the tight corridors of Thornwood, a well-timed slide can carry you through a doorway or around a corner while keeping your profile low. Use it to close distance, break line of sight, or dodge incoming fire during an engagement.
Doom Stick
The Doom Stick is a cursed magic wand exclusive to Thornwood Ruins. It launches homing death skulls that track down enemies. Watch as they desperately try to outrun their approaching doom with every spellcast.
- Skulls lock on after a brief delay, so fire into open areas to give them time to acquire a target
- The wand's slow fire rate means positioning matters between shots
- Skull tracking has a limited turn radius, so close-range lateral movement can dodge them
- Firing from elevated platforms gives skulls a clear tracking path with fewer obstructions
Weapon Spawns
Weapon spawns on Thornwood Ruins are randomized. Any spawn point could produce the Doom Stick, or old favorites like the shotgun, grenade launcher, or rocket launcher. Check every spawn you pass, since you never know what you'll find.
Environmental Hazards
- Fire: Patches of fire on the ground that deal damage over time. Jump or slide past them to minimize exposure
